Frank Coffman is a retired professor of English and journalism at Rock Valley College in Rockford, Illinois. A traditional formalist poet, his speculative verse spans the genres of Horror & the Supernatural, Science Fiction, Fantasy and other popular modes. His poetry collections include: This Ae Nighte, EveryNighte and Alle (chapbook, 2018); The Coven’s Hornbook & Other Poems (2019); Black Flames & Gleaming Shadows (2020); Eclipse of the Moon (2021), and What the Night Brings (2023). His collection of occult detective stories, Three Against the Dark: Collected Dr. Venn Detective Mysteries wasalso published in 2023. He is a member of the Horror Writers Association and the Science Fiction & Fantasy Poetry Association. He is the founder and moderator of the Weird Poets Society. Publisher and Managing Editor for Mind’s Eye Publications.
Three of his alliterative poems appear in Dennis Wise's critical anthology of modern alliterative verse, including:

His alliterative verse sequence, Battle of the Bards, appears in Forgotten Ground Regained, Issue 2. A pair of poems in Irish bardic meters, Keening of the Banshee and Samhain at the Graveyard appear in Issue 6.
